Joel Barker is a futurist. His video, Power of Vision is a tour through three authors’ work. He pulls ideas from Fred Polak, Benjamin Singer, and Viktor E. Frankl on importance of establishing vision for individuals and organization. Barker ties the concepts together with great examples and makes them relevant.

He also has a video about paradigms. He explores Thomas Kuhn’s, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. Kuhn explores the limitations of scientists to see outside their training for unusual patterns in their work.  People and organizations also need to examine their beliefs and practices. He states that we become imprisoned by our own past easily. We suffer “paradigm paralysis” and fail to innovate and establish new visions for the future.
