Course Description

  • Length of class : 1 semester
  • Occupational Ed or Elective: 12
  • Prerequisite: none
  • The Culminating Project is a Washington State graduation requirement.
  • Inventing one’s life takes courage and dedication.  The culminating project can be the first step in really embracing this process.  It is designed to give students a chance to demonstrate they have the skills necessary to succeed after high school graduation by creating and completing a self-directed project of their choice. The project will require meaningful research, the creation of a product or event as an outgrowth of that research, the sharing of the project with others, and a reflection on the learning process. The Culminating Project is intended to be a self-selected project that demonstrates student competency in selecting, planning, researching and presenting an independent project. Students are highly encouraged to select and complete a project that has a high degree of personal interest.
